OREANDA-NEWS. June 07, 2013. China, the world's second-largest oil consumer, saw its crude oil output rise 3.3% year on year to 17.07 million metric tons in April this year, according to recent figures released by the National Development and Reform Commission.

In the first four months of this year, China's crude oil output rose 2.6% year on year to 68.26 million metric tons.

The country processed 144.37 million metric tons of crude oil in the 4-month period, 4.9% more than that in the same period of 2012, and saw its output of oil products climb 4.5% year on year to 88.82 million metric tons.

The country's apparent consumption of oil products grew 3.7% year on year to 82.57 million metric tons in the first four months. The consumption of gasoline grew 12.7% year on year while that of diesel decreased 1.4%.
