OREANDA-NEWS. June 07, 2013. Prices for liquefied gas declined MDL 0,3 to MDL 8,95-8,97 per litre at filling stations of Moldova.
Earlier, the fuel was offered for sale at MDL 9,25 - 9,27 per litre. In particular, two oil companies - LUKoil Moldova and Rompetrol Moldova- brought the prices down as a result of a decline in the purchasing price for liquefied gas.

In Q1, 2013, the average price for the liquefied gas imported was \\$791 per tonne, 2.8% down as compared with the same period of the past year. The average monthly price for the liquefied gas imported decreased to USD671 p t in April and to USD 665 p t in May. According to ANRE, by law in force it can not intervene in the competitive market and set prices for oil products.

The prices are established by operators of the market of oil products on a base of the offer and demand and are conditional on many variables, such as global oil prices; evolution of global prices for fuel, an MDL exchange rate against USD, an amount of internal excises, etc.

What ANRE can do on the market is to issue and revoke licenses, monitor the market and watch operators so as they won’t overstep the 10% profitability allowed by the methodology for calculating and applying oil products prices.

In Q1, 2013 as compared with the same period of 2012, Moldova increased liquefied gas import 44.1% to 17 thousand 347.1 tonnes, ANRE reports. Liquefied gas was retailed at 385 filling stations of Moldova by 64 license holders.
