OREANDA-NEWS. June 06, 2013. The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Mykola Prysyazhniuk as a head of Ukrainian part of Ukrainian-Saudi Arabian intergovernmental commission for trade-economic and scientific-technical cooperation is staying on work trip to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through June 1-4.

In the frames of the visit there have been held negotiations concerning deepening of cooperation in agriculture, development of infrastructure and drawing investments.

During a meeting with Minister of Agriculture of Saudi Arabia Dr Fahad bin Abdulrahman Balghunaim Mykola Prysyazhniuk stressed that Ukraine and Saudi Arabia actively grow volumes of foreign trade. In turn, the Saudi Arabian party thanked for cooperation and expressed readiness to deepen joint work in the abovementioned issues.

At a meeting with Minister of Transport of Saudi Arabia Dr Jubarah bin Eid Al-Suraiseri the parties tackled issues of infrastructure cooperation. According to Mykola Prysyazhniuk, Ukraine is interested in deepening of investment interaction with this country. 

According to the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, growth of bilateral trade turnover is observed at the account of export of Ukrainian agriculture products to Saudi Arabian market. 

“Ukraine is concerned in increased supplies to Saudi Arabian market of ready-made goods of national agricultural production and foodstuffs. In 2012 the national agrarians supplied to Saudi Arabia agricultural goods to the tune of 581.5 million dollars. At this, grain was exported at 509 million dollars, oil – at 70 million dollars. And from beginning of 2013 the national agrarians have exported agricultural production at 34.2 million dollars,” Mykola Prysyazhniuk emphasized.

It should be noted Mykola Prysyazhniuk is the head of Ukrainian part of Ukrainian-Saudi Arabian intergovernmental commission for trade-economic and scientific-technical cooperation. During the visit it was approved a decision to hold a sitting of intergovernmental commission at the beginning of 2014.
