Agrium Announced Temporary Outage at Redwater Nitrogen Facility
OREANDA-NEWS. June 06, 2013. Agrium announced that its Redwater 2, nitrogen facility in Alberta (680,000 metric tonne ammonia and associated upgraded nitrogen products) went down due to an issue with the heat exchanger.
It is estimated that it will be back up in late June. Agrium will be moving up a planned one-month turnaround at the facility which was originally set to take place in October, 2013.
The smaller Redwater 1 ammonia facility and phosphate production at the site has not been impacted. Agrium will supply current customer demand from inventories, which are expected to be drawn down by the end of the spring season.
