Starting from January, 1, 2013, in line with the law on electricity and EU principles, ANRE is entitled to demand for the electricity transportation system operator, namely Moldelectrica, to buy the electricity necessary to cover technical losses in line with transparent procedures based on market economy principles.

According to ANRE experts, the changes to the methodology will make the operator of the power transportation system take measures in order to improve efficiency of national electricity networks. The changes will not have an impact on prices for electricity final users have paid. At present, the tariff for electricity transportation is 8.02 ban per 1 kWh.
