US Companies Will Help to Increase Investments into Uzbek Economy
OREANDA-NEWS. Embassy of Uzbekistan in the United States organized a roundtable dedicated to economic development of Uzbekistan and investment potential of the country in Washington.
Members of the American-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce (AUCC) – General Electric, Anadarko, CNH, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, White&Case, Nukem, FMN Logistics and others – participated at the roundtable, Jahon news agency reported.
At the event, the participants received information on economic development of Uzbekistan and conditions created for foreign investors. They also familiarized with potential of special industrial zones Navoi, Angren and Jizzkah.
It was noted that the relations between Uzbekistan and the US are developing dynamically in past several years. The sides are cooperating in such areas as machinery, metal processing, energy, oil and gas, petrochemical, mining, and others.
The participants considered issues of developing economic and investment cooperation between two nations, doing business in Uzbekistan, etc.
AUCC chairperson Carolyn Lamm said that such events will serve for development of bilateral economic relations and growth of AUCC numbers. She expressed readiness of the chamber to assist in implementation of joint projects.
Carolyn Lamm underlined importance of agreements, reached in August 2012 in Tashkent at business forum, on implementation of concrete projects in various sectors of economy for USD 2.8 billion. She said that signing of the agreements on these projects, planned for 2013, will be evidence for new quality of economic cooperation between two states and positive example for other US companies.
