Ukraine, India to Expand Bipartite Defense Cooperation
OREANDA-NEWS. June 03, 2013. The Government has approved a resolution “On approving an Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of India on defense cooperation”. The normative-legal act was elaborated by the Defense Ministry of Ukraine in compliance with item “а” part 3, article 12 of the Law of Ukraine “About international agreements of Ukraine”.
The document is directed to implementation by the Ukrainian side of an internal state procedure necessary for coming in force of the Agreement, signed on December 10, 2012 on implementation of a regulation of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of October 31, 2012.
With publication of this resolution the Agreement will come in effect and give an opportunity to launch and develop equal, mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation with the Republic of India in the sphere of defense.
It will afford development of two-way cooperation along the following key directions:
exchange of official and working visits;
exchange of information and experience in military education;
exchange of military instructors or observers;
training of military personnel of one Party by participation in courses and programs held in military educational institutions of another Party;
joint military trainings;
seminars, discussions and symposiums;
exchange of information and experience concerning protection of environment and radiation, chemical and bacteriological protection;
exchange of information which rises mutual interest;
exchange of information about defense industry and policy of purchase military equipment, armament and raw materials;
handing over technologies and military goods;
exchange of information and experience concerning military technologies and goods containing intellectual property objects, the rights to which are protected pursuant to the legislation of the Parties.
