OREANDA-NEWS. June 03, 2013. The 9th Arbitration Appeal Court confirmed legitimacy of the decision of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) regarding the Ministry of Interior.

On 13th June 2012, the Antimonopoly Service established that 32 suppliers of equipment other than principal items for the needs of the Ministry of Interior concluded a competition-restricting agreement, which resulted in maintaining prices at auctions (in breach of Article 11 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition”).

The cartel of suppliers of equipment other than principal items operated throughout 2010. The subject of the cartel was 39 lots for supplying equipment other than principal items for the needs of the Departments of Interior in the Smolensk, Vologda, Pskov, Tula and Murmansk regions.

“The Court of First Instance and the Appeal Court supported the FAS position, confirming the bid-rigging cartel”, pointed out Deputy Head of FAS Anti-Cartel Department, Andrey Tenischev.
