OREANDA-NEWS. May 31, 2013. Qatar Petroleum’s Offshore Operations and the QP Divers Club, a branch of the British Sub-Aqua Club (BSAC), jointly carried out  an environmental seabed clean-up campaign on the east side of Halul Island.

The campaign was in line with QP’s strategy of protecting the environment in all areas of its operations. The objective of this voluntary project was to ensure that the coral reefs and marine life around Halul are protected from external foreign objects and to ensure that the area’s natural marine life is preserved.

The underwater environmental campaign successfully resulted in the removal from the seabed of many large-size tires and other objects that were degrading the marine environment.
