OREANDA-NEWS. OJSC Belaruskali (Soligorsk, Belarus) and OJSC Uralkali (Perm Region, Russia) are supposed to join efforts in facilitates overseas sales of potash fertilizers.

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko made a statement to this effect on 20 May, while meeting with Suleyman Kerimov, an Uralkali stakeholder and a member of the upper chamber of the Russian parliament, the president’s press service reports.

“Any attempt to act independently, especially now that we have created a single company to sell potash fertilizers, will be to the detriment of Uralkali on the one hand, will harm Belaruskali on the other,” Lukashenko said. “We do not conceal the fact that we will keep reinforcing our unity on the potash fertilizers market,” Lukashenko said.

“It is a standpoint of the Belarusian government, which is shared by everyone: from the head of the potash producing company to the head of state,” Lukashenko said.

Lukashenko admitted that he would be ready to consider any proposals made by Russia, provided they are in tune with the aforementioned concept.
