Belarus' Grodno Azot Reports 23.2% Rise in Commodity Output
OREANDA-NEWS. Belarus’ chemical company OJSC Grodno Azot manufactured Br3.445 trillion worth of chemical products (USD 397.347 million) in January-April 2013, up 23.2% on the year, the company said in an official report posted on the company’s web site.
In April 2013 commodity output grew 24% on the year to Br909.505 billion (USD 104.903 million).
OJSC Grodno Azot increased fertilizer production 1.8% on the year in January-April 2013 to 268,645 tonnes (in terms of 100% nitrogen). In April alone nitrogen fertilizer output decreased 0.7% to 66,204 tonnes.
Carbamide output expanded 2.6% to 342,169 tonnes (March – up 1.9% to 84,324 tonnes).
Grodno Azot increased output of ammonium sulphate by 2.2% in January-April 2013 up to 140,89 tonnes.
Grodno Azot was set up in 1963 and transformed into an open joint-stock company in 2002. The Belarusian government holds a 99.97% stake.
Grodno Azot is Belarus’ main producer of liquid ammonia, nitrogen fertilizers, methanol, caprolactam, biodiesel fuel.
