Ukraine, Morocco to Sign Agreements for Help in Civil, Criminal Cases
OREANDA-NEWS. May 29, 2013. Ukraine and Kingdom of Morocco will sign two bilateral agreements on mutual legal assistance in civil and criminal matters. Moroccan-Ukrainian negotiations on drafting the relevant agreements started in the building of Ukrainian Ministry of Justice.
According to Justice Minister Oleksandr Lavrynovych, it is assumed that after the conclusion of the relevant agreements citizens of Ukraine and Morocco will have guaranteed adequate legal protection in the territories of both countries, and they have access to competent bodies, will be established cooperation of central and the competent authorities of the two countries in civil and criminal cases.
As the Minister said, on the Ukrainian side experts of the Supreme Court, the Prosecutor General Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Justice involved to drafting.
As you know, earlier by the orders of the President of Ukraine dated on September 27, 2011 number 287 and 288 the Delegation of Ukraine was formed to participate in the negotiations between Ukraine and the Kingdom of Morocco to prepare draft agreements on legal assistance in civil cases and criminal cases. Ukraine delegation led by Inna Emelyanova, First Deputy Minister of Justice.
As of today, there is no contractual framework between Ukraine and the Kingdom of Morocco that would regulate legal cooperation issues in civil and criminal cases at the international level.
