OREANDA-NEWS. Finnish cargo airline Nordic Global Airlines started operations with technical stops at NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport. Flights on the route Hong Kong - Novosibirsk – Helsinki are performed twice a week on McDonnell Douglas MD-11F.

Start of operations of a new cargo airline is a result of activities focused on attraction of air carriers and positioning of NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport as a convenient air hub on international transit routes.

Currently, the airport is in talks to increase the number of flights operated by such airlines as Cargolux, Air China Cargo, AirBridgeCargo and others.

NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport is the largest air in the Asian part of Russia.It has two runways. The airport provides handling for regular flights of Russian and foreign cargo airlines such as AirBridgeCargo, Aeroflot, Volga-Dnepr, Cargolux, Air China Cargo, Yangtze River Express and others. The capacity of cargo complex Tolmachevo Cargo is 50 000 tons per year. In 2013 it expects to handle more than 35 000tons of cargo and mail (+25%).

Nordic Global Airlines is a cargo airline based in Helsinki-Vantaa Airport (Finland). The airline’s fleet consists of four McDonnell Douglas MD-11F, capable to carry up to 500 cubic meters of cargo weighing up to 80 tons. The airline operates flights on the routes connecting Helsinki, Brussels, Chicago, Hong Kong, New York and Mumbai.
