Industrial Production Grew 1,5% in 1Q in Moldova
OREANDA-NEWS. May 24, 2013. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, in March, 2013 industrial production grew 4.5% as compared with March, 2012. In January-March, 2013 production in the mining industry grew 33.4% as compared with the same period of 2012.
The processing industry grew 3.4%. The energy sector (generation and distribution of electricity and heat) saw the decline of 5.9% in first 2 months of 2013. In Q1, 2013 it was produced 2.5% more foodstuffs and beverages than in the same period in 2012. The processing of distil alcoholic beverages grew 38.1%, wines – 25.6%; the production and processing of meat also grew 21.7%. Production of bakery food, cacao, chocolate and saccharine increased by 14.1%, production of pastry and sugar increased 12%.
The growth was formed by 10.7% in processed and canned fruits and vegetables; dairy products – 7.4% and bread and pastry – 6.5%. At the same time, production of vegetable and animal oils decreased 84.7%, mineral water and soft drinks decreased 15.9%, fish canning and production – 11.9%. Production of other non-metal mineral products (glass, items of concrete, gypsum and cement) grew 73.1%.
Production of chemicals increased 59.7%, metallurgic industry – 39.7%. Production of electrical machines and equipment increased 33.4%, machines and equipment – 6.5%, furniture – 3.2%, rubber and plastic articles – 1.3%. In Q1, 2013 the production of medical devices and optical instruments decreased 66%, leather and footwear production – 28.5%.
Amount of woodworking and woodwork production decreased 23.7%, production of telecommunication devices – 17.8%, tobacco products – 15.1%, clothes – 12.9%, textiles – 9.5%. %. Heat and hot water supply decreased 7.4%, paper and cardboard – 6.4%. Production of poligraphy and printed materials decreased 5.4%, power production – 5.1%, production of finished metal-ware – 2.7%.
