OREANDA-NEWS. May 24, 2013. The Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service in the Leningrad region (Leningrad OFAS Russia) received a determination from the Office of the Federal Bailiff Service in St Petersburg on terminating enforcement proceedings against a debtor – “Agrotorg” Ltd. (a network of “Pyaterochka” stores).

“Pyaterochka” was imposed an administrative fine (110,000 Rubles) for failure to submit information to the antimonopoly authority within the designated period on operations of the trading network in the Leningrad region (in breach of Part 1 Article 25 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition”).

The trading network challenged the determination of Leningrad OFAS Russia at the Arbitration Court of St Petersburg and the Leningrad region. The Court dismissed the claim of “Pyaterochka” and confirmed legitimacy of the determination issued by the antimonopoly body to impose the fine.

Since the trading network failed to pay the fine within the statutory period, the case materials were transferred to the Office of the Federal Bailiff Service in St Petersburg, which recovered the fine in full.

“The antimonopoly work also includes elements of sate enforcement, which was demonstrated in this case”, pointed out Deputy Head of Leningrad OFAS Russia, Dmitry Vasiliev.
