OREANDA-NEWS. May 23, 2013. POSCO is participating in the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) held in Houston, U.S., to promote the excellence of POSCO`s steel materials from energy to major global customers.

During this event, POSCO set up a joint booth with POSCO E&C, POSCO Specialty Steel, POSCO PLANTEC, Sungjin Geotech, and POSCO Engineering, exhibiting structural models of offshore plants developed by POSCO family companies using energy steel materials such as POSCO`s specialty products including thick steel plates and API-X120, emphasizing the value chain.

On May 8th, Lee Gwan-seob, Director General for industrial policy of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, as well as 1,500 visitors of the energy-related industry including employees of major oil companies, EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) companies, production, and equipment companies visited the promotion booth and showed great interest in POSCO`s energy steel material development abilities.

Particularly, at the reception hosting invited leadership and employees of major oil companies and EPC companies, POSCO introduced the excellence of its steel materials for energy as well as family company business capabilities, and garnered attention with a traditional performance.

In addition, POSCO entered into an MOU with Fugro, the world`s leading foundation design company, to discuss ways of cooperation on energy steel material sales strategies to major companies such as Shell and the Korea National Oil Corporation.

POSCO, based on discussions and market information collected at this conference, will strengthen and proactively carry out business and promotion activities for win-win and shared growth activities with other domestic companies. Further, the Company plans to increase brand awareness among energy-related global top players and expand sales of steel materials for energy.

The Offshore Technology Conference has been held each year since 1969 in Houston, and is the world`s largest offshore technology exhibition where approximately 2,500 companies from 110 countries participate. POSCO has been participating since 2008 to carry out various demand development activities, marking its 6th year.
