OREANDA-NEWS. May 23, 2013. Qatar Petroleum’s Dukhan Operations recently hosted a high-level delegation of Shell officials who visited Dukhan for a meeting with QP officials and for a tour of Dukhan’s facilities.

During the meeting, many topics related to the oil and gas industry were discussed, including perspectives on training and staff development programs. There were also discussions on operating and maintenance processes, and the possibility of exchanging experiences in this regard was explored.

Mr. Ahmad Saif Al-Sulaiti, Operations Manager-Dukhan Fields, and Mr. Wael Sawan, Managing Director and Chairman of Qatar Shell, attended the meeting along with many department managers from both sides.

After the meeting, the Shell officials were given a tour of the Dukhan Township for them to see the area’s many facilities such as the recreational clubs and the Dukhan Learning Center. The group also visited Well No. 1, which is the one of the most important landmarks in Dukhan because it was the first well to be drilled in Qatar in the 1930s.

At the end of the visit, Mr. Al-Sulaiti presented a Dukhan Operations memento to Mr. Sawan and thanked them for their visit.
