OREANDA-NEWS. The winter tendency to decreasing of consumer confidence of Ukrainians stopped in April 2013. The Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) improved at once by 5.1 p. to 86.4. Considerable improvement of the weather conditions in April in comparison to March resulted in better consumer confidence firstly in the regions, where the weather was the worst in March. This factor as well as holiday inflationary expectations made the Index of Propensity to Consume grew the most. It is proved by the data of the consumer confidence survey in Ukraine, which is conducted by GfK Ukraine on a monthly basis.

In April 2013, the Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) grew by 5.1 p. to 86.4.

Index of Current Situation is 86.2, which is 8.3 p. better than in March.

The components of this index changed in the following way:
Index of Current Personal Financial Standing (х1) is 85.1, which is 4.9 p. higher than in March;
Index of Propensity to Consume (х5) at once gained 11.6 p. and reached 87.4.

Economic Expectations of the Population improved by 2.9 p. to 86.4. The components of this index changed in the following way:
Index of Expected Changes in Personal Financial Standing (х2) grew by 1.5 p. and reached 95.9;
Index of Expected Economic Conditions in the Country over the Next Year (х3) is 82.2, which is 6.4 p. higher than in March;
Index of Expected Economic Conditions in the Country over the Next Five Years (х4) remained almost unchanged: it is 81.3 p., which is 0.8 p. higher than in March.

Expectations of Ukrainians concerning the unemployment dynamics improved in April: the respective index is 135.1, it is 2.6 p. lower than in March. Ukrainians became yet more pessimistic concerning the inflationary expectations: the respective index is 187.4, it is 5.3 p. higher than in March. However, there was slight positive dynamics in the expectations of Ukrainians as to the hryvnia exchange rate in the next three months: index of devaluation expectations lost 0.8 p. to 125.9.

The following key trends were observed in April:
Considerable improvement of the weather conditions in April in comparison to March resulted in the improvement of consumer confidence of Ukrainians firstly in the regions, where the weather was the worst in March.
This factor as well as holiday inflationary expectations made the Index of Propensity to Consume grew the most.
The biggest improvement in the consumer confidence was observed in Kyiv and other big cities, as well as among the citizens with upper middle income.
