OMZ Group Completes Production of Reactor Vessel for Rostov NPP
OREANDA-NEWS. Izhorskiye Zavody, a part of OMZ Group, had completed production and started the delivery process of VVER-1000 reactor vessel for the third power block of Rostov Nuclear Power Plant. The reactor vessel is being transported from Izhorskiye Zavody to a shiploader in Ust’-Slavyanka situated on the Neva river bank. Then it will be shipped to the customer.
Rostov NPP is a subsidiary of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. The enterprise is situated on the board of Tsymliansk reservoir, 13.5 km away from Volgodonsk. The NPP currently runs two power blocks of VVER-1000 type with installed capacity of 1000MW. The power block 1 has been set into industrial operation in 2001, the power block 2 - in December 2010. Power blocks 3 and 4 are currently under construction.
Izhorskiye Zavody also produces reactor equipment (reactor vessel with internals and cover of the upper unit) as well as support plate and baffle collar for NPP’s power block 4, which is currently under construction.
