OREANDA-NEWS. A Small Group Activity (SGA) Team “Power Point” from the Wet Processing Plant in the Raw Material Handling Division of of Joda East Iron Mine (JEIM) bagged the 1st prize in Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM) Quality Circle Category at the 18th All Odisha Quality Circle Convention held at Bhubaneswar on 24th & 25th April 2013.

Simultaneously, two SGA teams from JEIM & Khondbond Iron Mine (KIM) were honoured with consolation prizes for their good performance at the All Odisha Quality Circle Convention organised by National Aluminium Company (Nalco).

Twenty five quality circle teams & seven TPM teams from different industries participated in the convention. The “Power Point” & “Sub Station” from Wet Processing Plant of JEIM & “Jhalak” SGA from C&S Plant of KIM participated in the convention.

TPM is a production management approach that places the responsibility for routine maintenance on workers who operate machineries, rather than employing separate maintenance personal for that function. In every department, employees of the same department are trained as professional team (called TPM circles) to operate & inspect machineries regularly.
