SAS Doubles Frequency on Stockholm – Vilnius Route
OREANDA-NEWS. From August 19, 2013 Scandinavian Airlines SAS is doubling the frequency on this route: instead of current 6 weekly flights, the number of flights will be increased up to 12 per week, i.e. 2 flights per day on the weekdays, and one flight per day on Saturdays and Sundays.
“Our business customers expressed great interest in SAS route between Stockholm and Vilnius. As a result, at the end of this summer, when most of our customers will be getting back to work after their holidays, we are increasing the frequency of SAS flights on this route”, said Ruta Juciene, SAS General Manager Baltic States.
On weekdays SAS planes will take off at Stockholm Arlanda airport at 9:35 and 14:45, and they will depart Vilnius International Airport at 12:45 and 17:55. On weekend days the flight times will slightly differ. Flights will be operated by 50 seat SAAB 2000 aircraft and will take place approximately 1 hour 30 minutes. Tickets for the new flights will be available for purchasing from May 20, 2013.
Due to additional frequency, passengers from Vilnius will have more suitable connections via Stockholm with other European cities such as Brussels, London, Paris, Amsterdam, Manchester, also with cities in Sweden and Finland.
In Lithuania SAS is operating 19 weekly flights between Vilnius and Copenhagen and 13 weekly flights between Palanga and Copenhagen. On April 1, 2013 SAS launched a new route between Stockholm and Vilnius with the frequency of 6 weekly flights and is now operating 38 weekly flights in Lithuania in total.
