OREANDA-NEWS. May 21, 2013. Cash Department of the Central Bank held a workshop for cash officers from credit institutions on development of monetary units and anti-money counterfeiting within its range of events.

The workshop covered presentations and speeches on development of monetary units, their protection philosophy, combating counterfeit money printing, the relevant role and policy of the Central Bank etc.

The workshop participants were informed that in the environment of dynamic growth of the entire economy and banking and payment systems of the country high confidence in the national currency and attractiveness of the national monetary units as a turnover facility transformed AZN to a much stronger currency on the regional scope.

However, intense development of the computer and copying technologies, and use of banknote protection technologies in other spheres increase potential risks on counterfeiting of manat in modern times. This, in turn, requires amplification of relevant anti-money counterfeiting measures.

Furthermore, the Expertise of monetary units presentation was delivered to the workshop participants.

Note that, the Central Bank regularly takes measures to enhance the level of services rendered to the population by commercial banks, minimize money counterfeiting risks and educate commercial bank employees to that end, and provides necessary technical assistance to commercial banks.
