UTair Group Starts Operation of Helicopters in Peru
OREANDA-NEWS. The agreement between the Peruvian Directorate General for Civil Aviation and the Interstate Aviation Committee for the mutual recognition of airworthiness certification signed on May 16 2013 gives the green light for operations of 20 Russian built Mil helicopters in the fleet of UTair Group subsidiary Helicopteros del Sur (Helisur) based in Peru.
Helisur is an active player on the helicopter operations market in Peru. Helisur crews receive regular training at the UTair Training Center in Tyumen, with a total of 113 professionals slated to complete various training programs in 2013. The UTair Training Center is also completing negotiations for an agreement with San Martin de Porres University in Lima, Peru, to train young pilots. In 2012 a subsidiary of UTair Engineering has been registered in Peru and 12 hectares of land has been acquired 50 km from Lima to develop a local MRO service center.
The agreement for mutual recognition of airworthiness certification signed in Moscow makes it easier to obtain an export airworthiness certificate and register new helicopters assembled in Russia in the aeronautical register of the Republic of Peru.
The UTair Group includes airlines conducting passenger and cargo operations with fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft as well as enterprises offering MRO, personnel training, flight services and air transportation sales services.
