OREANDA-NEWS.  In topping — out ceremony of the new sinter machine No.1 with a high performance gas cleaning took part President of Ukraine Viktor Fedorovych Yanukovych, the owner of the of the company SCM (the largest shareholder of the plant) Rinat Akhmetov, Chairman of region state administration Aleksandr Peklushenko, other representatives of central and regional administrative authority.

 Assembling and start -up of the complex — is a part of the program of the massive modernization of the Plant. The aim of this program — is to make the Plant one of the most modernized in the Eastern Europe and to minimize its influence to the environment. Modern industrial complex of the sinter machine No.1 of the Iron and Steel Works “Zaporizhstal” with high performing gas cleaning is unique with its technological characteristics — it is fitted with two electro precipitators, that effect the cleaning of the sinter gas by dry method, as opposite from the acting now, wet gas purification. That helps countermarch back to the production about 6 thou. tones per year of the caught ferriferous manufacture wastes and at the same time to reduce the environmental discharge at the level of the10- present reduction from the general number of the dust and gas discharge to the atmosphere. The start-up of the sinter machine will give an opportunity to reduce development pressure to the region.

 During the visit of the president of the SCM Rinat Akhmetov reviewed the plant work, in particular the hydrochloric acid pickling line. The realization of this project will give the powerful environmental effect — reduction of discharge of industrial water of the plant to the river Dnepr for 83 %. Investments to the project in the 2013 will make more than 230 mln. grn., when general volume of the investment is 730 mln.grn. The line will be started up in 2014.

 The CEO of the Integrated iron and steel plant “Zaporizhstal” Rostislav Shurma told the shareholder about the development of the complex modernization of the plant, and showed the manufacturing area, where the modernization is already started and will be started in the near future: " At the moment we have made enough: the building of the goal bulk storage in the complex installation of the PCI is already finished, the new sinter machine No.1 is started. The collectivity has new tasks ahead, such as the building of the gas purification in the new sinter machine at the sinter plant, the building of the hydro-chloric acid continuous pickling line, the reconstruction of the BF No.4 and the continuous work on efficiency upgrading. The collectivity of the plant surely understands the phrase “effectiveness — future” and works over to gain the bowl of the most effective iron and steel plant. Nowadays we have the task — to win this bowl in Ukraine".
