OREANDA-NEWS. With the financial support of TITAN-2 by the end of summer the town orphanage will get all its residential premises repaired, with the construction of a new principal staircase. In 2013 the orphanage will celebrate 20 years of its work and the repairs and redecoration will make a great anniversary present.

To date, repairs have already moved into the final stage. Builders completed decoration of all five dormitories, replaced interior doors with a more comfortable design made from modern building materials. Further works included capital repairs of the toilets which now have a new utilities network and full replacement of plumbing and heating fixtures. The common areas also got fresh doors and lighting, new suspended ceilings and walk-in showers.

To meet the fire safety requirements the two institutions located in the same building are now separated by a metal fire door and fire cabinets.

Now, the finale of the repair campaign will be the construction and decoration of the principal staircase. The old railings will be dismantled and replaced with new, more comfortable and aesthetically pleasing ones. The steps and landings will be lined with decorative floor tiles.

Builders are planning to complete the repairs by the end of May, right in time for the Children's Day – so that the orphanage can celebrate it in new cosy and bright rooms.
