Moldova Saw 0,4% Inflation in April
OREANDA-NEWS. May 17, 2013. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, within April, 2012 – April, 2013 inflation was 4.5%.According to the National Bureau of Statistics, in February, 2013 prices for foodstuff went 0.7% up, prices for non-foods increased 0.2%; tariffs for services grew 0.3%.
In April, 2013 prices increased 9.1% for potatoes, and 4.8% for fresh vegetables, particularly, 5.3% for carrot, 8.8% for onion, 7.4% for beet, 4.4% for tomatoes. Prices for fresh fruits grew 2.9%, particularly, citruses – 4%, exotic fruits – 3.5%, seed fruits – 2.6%. Prices for grapes and wheat flour grew as well 1.5%. At the same time, prices for eggs fell 5.7%, cucumbers – 3%, sour cream and bacon – 1.1%, and milk – 1%.
The prices for rice, fresh and frozen fish, cottage cheese and cheese decreased within 0.2% and 0.6%.Among non-foods the greatest increase in prices was registered for hygiene product, which went up 1.3%, and for clothes – 0.5%. In particular, prices for girls’ dresses grew 1.6%, men's jackets, sweaters, jackets – 1.5%, children's t-shirts – 1.1%, and women's suits – 0.9%. Prices grew 0.4% for foot wear, for women's sandals – 2%, for sneakers – 1.1%.
Prices for detergents and cleaners, televisions, jewelry, cosmetics increased within 0.2% and 1.1%. Prices for cigarettes increased 0.5%. At the same time, in April prices for women's fur coats decreased 2.1%. Prices for coats and short coats for women, winter children's jackets, winter footwear for adults and children decreased within 0.1% and 0.5%.
The prices for services grew in April as well. For example, kindergarten fees increased 1.5%, transport fees – 3.5%, particularly in Balti city-transport fees grew 6.3%, prices for international railway and air transport services grew 5.9% and 0.8% respectively.
