OREANDA-NEWS. It was started the supply of main equipment in the framework of the investment project of Iovskaya HPP reconstruction. The impeller camera for hydraulic #1 was delivered on Iovskaya HPP from factory Pelfa in Udine (Italy).

The equipment is designed for Kaplan turbines that will be installed on station instead of previously used propeller-type units. The project includes complete replacement of impellers, control and excitation systems reconstruction of protection and automation.

"Large-scale reconstruction on Iovskaya HPP began on November 1, 2012. We plan to replace the first unit in 2013, and the second one in 2014. The upgrade will increase efficiency of the plant, — commented on the work Andrey Zharnikov, director of the Cascade of Nivskie HPPs. — We can make better use of hydropower reservoir and promptly adjust the load in accordance with the needs of the region's energy system".
