Ukraine Can Apply Lithuanian Experience in Reforming Medical Branch
OREANDA-NEWS. May 16, 2013. Staying with a working visit to Vilnius a Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Kostyantyn Gryshchenko was received by Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania Algirdas Butkevicius.
The head of Lithuanian government stressed that Lithuania backs actively Eurointegration course of Ukraine and strives that during the Eastern Partnership Summit in Vilnius in November of 2013 the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union to be signed.
For his part, Kostyantyn Gryshchenko thanked to Algirdas Butkevicius for the assistance rendered by Lithuania in approaching of our country to the EU and underlined that for Ukrainian leaders the course to the integration with European political, legal and economic space is uncontested.
Apart from that, the Vice Prime Minister suggested to stir up significantly cooperation between Ukraine and Lithuania in the area of medicine and education. In the context of the mentioned issues Kostyantyn Gryshchenko accompanied by Health Minister of Lithuania Vytenis Andriukaitis and Adviser to the Prime Minister of Lithuania Antanas Vinkus attended one of the largest medical complexes of the Baltic region – Vilnius University Hospital Santariskiu Clinics and the central station of emergency aid of Vilnius.
The Vice Premier accentuated that Lithuanian experience of reforming of the healthcare system, introduction of information technologies in it and creating multifunctional regional centers integrated with leading medical universities are of great interest for Ukrainians. He suggested including the experience exchange concerning these issues to the agenda of inter-governmental cooperation.
