OREANDA-NEWS.  A working meeting of the Prime Minister of Vietnam Nguyen Tan Dung and Director General of the State Atomic Energy Corporation ROSATOM Sergey Kirienko was held within the framework of the Prime Minister’s official visit to Russia.

The meeting discussed the possible construction of the first Vietnamese nuclear power plant and cooperation between Russia and Vietnam in nuclear technology areas.

“Rosatom is a globally recognized company. Ninh Thuan NPP is going to play a very important role in ensuring energy security of Vietnam. We appreciate the willingness of the Russian   side to provide the necessary loan and assistance in this project”, - commented the Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.

“We view the order for the construction of a nuclear power plant in Vietna as the sign of absolute confidence in what we do. I ensure you that we’ll take any effort to justify this trust and will be able to build the most safe and up-to-date nuclear power plant in Vietnam,” - said Sergey Kirienko.
