OREANDA-NEWS. Russia has voiced concern over the fact that tobacco smuggling is widespread in the Customs Union.

As the gap between cigarette prices in Russia and Belarus grows wider, the illegal trade in Belarusian tobacco goods becomes very intensive in the neighbouring areas of Russia and Belarus.

Experts have estimated that Belarusian cigarettes illegally imported to Russia has left the country short of Br2 billion in budget proceeds.
