Gerdau's Employees Help Needy Children in United States
OREANDA-NEWS. Gerdau's employees from the Company's office in Tampa, Florida (USA), joined forces with the national nonprofit organization KaBOOM! to help build playgrounds to benefit needy children of King’s Kids Academy of Health and Sciences and the Beacon Hill Community. More than 200 people participated in the initiative, including Gerdau's employees and volunteers from the community. In addition to offering the manpower, Gerdau also donated USD 60,000 to purchase new playground equipment for the schools.
Gerdau develops a strong program of social responsibility aimed at providing support to the communities where the Company operates. The social actions are carried out in the whole North American region in partnership with organizations such as Junior Achievement, United Way, and Habitat for Humanity.
