OREANDA-NEWS. May 15, 2013. After the 7.0-magnitude quake hit Lushan county in Sichuan Province on April 20, 2013, over 10 counties/cities were badly damaged, and the post-disaster reconstruction work becomes extremely urgent. Up to now, the first batch of reconstruction projects such as school and hospital have been fully commenced in six severely afflicted regions.

In order to carry out the reconstruction works on the fastest and quality basis, Sichuan Provincial Government selected several competent and influential state-owned enterprises and central enterprises to participate in this task.

As a result, the 5th China Metallurgical Construction Group (5MCC Group) was chosen to undertaken the post-disaster reconstruction work in Baoxing County, one of the severely afflicted areas.

The leaders of 5MCC Group attached great importance to this task, and established at the first time the Leading Group for Post-disaster Reconstruction Work and the On-site Headquarters for Post-disaster Reconstruction Work. In addition, the Project Team was promptly organized and staffed with experienced and capable employees.

The 4th Company of 5MCC Group was eventually designated to carry out this project, because it has taken part in the overall resettlement and construction work of Pingshan County of Yibin City, and has been awarded with prizes for quite a few times by Sichuan Provincial Government.
