OREANDA-NEWS. May 15, 2013. SGCC formulated the plan to construct wind power integration detection system to ensure the implementation of the national energy strategy and promote the healthy development of wind power. Relying on the National Wind Power Technology and Detection Research Center, the only authorized entity by the National Energy Administration, the company is now constructing sub-centers orderly in provincial companies with GW-level installed capacity of wind power.

The second batch of wind power detection sub-centers of SGCC were opened in Jiangsu, Fujian, Jilin and Heilongjiang, whose provincial electric power research institutes had adequate detection capability assessed by SGCC. The opening ceremony was held in Nanjing where these sub-centers were authorized. It’s another major measure for the company to enhance its detection capability and improve its wind power integration detection system after the establishment of the first batch of sub-centers in Jibei, Shandong, Liaoning, Gansu and Ningxia on January 24 this year.

Currently there are 30 fixed detection places and 19 sets of mobile wind farm on-site detection equipment in the detection center and sub-centers, capable of low-voltage ride-through, electricity quality, power adjustment, and grid interconnection. They have become a top wind power detection institute in the world with the largest scale, highest voltage, most comprehensive functions, and most advanced detection methods.

According to Regulations on SGCC Wind Power Integration Detection (Trial), the detection shall unify the qualification, fee standards, examination content, examination methods, assessment references, and information release, and realize systematic management, standardized method and established workflow by forming a coordinated, well-communicated system with well divided individual responsibility.

The NEA fully affirmed SGCC’s efforts and performance in improving the system, standardizing the procedure, and speeding up the detection process. SGCC will further specify the work regulations, establish a sound detection information release method, coordinate relevant resources, work out inter-provincial collaboration detection plan, and improve coordination mechanism.
