Mitsubishi Motors Received JNCAP First Prize
OREANDA-NEWS. Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) announced that its all-new Outlander received the Japan New Car Assessment Program (JNCAP) JNCAP Five Star Award in addition to the JNCAP First Prize, cementing the SUV as a leader in automobile safety.
The JNCAP Five Star Award is given to new automobiles introduced in during the Japanese fiscal year that earn the maximum five star overall rating in the 2012 JNCAP crash safety evaluation tests conducted by Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) and National Agency for Automotive Safety and Victims' Aid (NASVA). The JNCAP First Prize is given to an automobile that achieves the highest ever score.
The JNCAP structure combines vehicle occupant protection and pedestrian protection performance during test collisions, evaluating overall safety of automobiles and assigning a grade from one (lowest) to five (highest) stars. The Outlander received the maximum five-star rating for achieving the highest level of safety for vehicle occupants as well as for pedestrians.
