OREANDA-NEWS. May 14, 2013. The earthquake occurred on May 01, 2013 in several parts of North India at 12.30 p.m. with magnitude equal to 5.9 by Richter scale. According to foreign media reports, the epicenter of the earthquake is located 17km from the border between Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh.

After buildings shook in Delhi, offices and homes were evacuated in parts of Kashmir. Jammu and Kashmir experienced at least six aftershocks in which over 25 students were injured.

In Baderwah the roof of a school building collapsed injuring eight students. Four students were also injured when the building of their school collapsed in Kishtwar district.

The tremors were felt for about 20-25 seconds in Delhi, and the satellite towns of Gurgaon and Noida. There were no immediate reports of any casualty or injury.
