Braskem Green Plastic Will Be Raw Material for Formula-Style Race Cars
OREANDA-NEWS. Braskem's green plastic will be the raw material used to make dashboards for the Formula-style race cars built by the team from the Universite du Quebec a Trois-Rivieres for the world competition of the Society of Automotive Engineers to be held May 8th through 11th in Jackson, Michigan, U.S.
During the competition, students from more than 120 universities are challenged to make the fastest car at the lowest cost. The idea to use renewable materials came from a Brazilian, Alencar Bravo, who is part of the research center on ecological materials at the Canadian university. Bravo holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and is currently coursing a doctorate in eco-materials.
Braskem is the Americas' top thermoplastic resins producer.
