OREANDA-NEWS. The UN in Geneva hosted the 11th Annual Forum organised by UN Global Compact, where SCM has taken part since 2006.

This year, for the first time, the Annual Local Network Forum (ALNF) and the UN System Private Sector Focal Points (PSFP) Meeting took place at the same time. The joint event sought to involve the local networks and private sector in actions to achieve the UN’s goals and objectives at a national and international level. The forum’s agenda included the day of joint planning, when ALNF delegates interacted with UN staff members and representatives of private business and NGOs. International Labour Organization hosted the event.

SCM was represented by Director of International and Investor Relations Jock Mendoza-Wilson, the UNGC Steering Committee Chair in Ukraine, who commented on the meeting, saying: "Over 100 countries were represented at the meeting, with the Ukrainian Global Compact network taking an active role in the policy discussions and decision making. The new, strengthened governance structure agreed at the meeting should improve the UN Global Compact’s operations and give better knowledge and information to members."
