Dixy Group Demonstrates 21.9% Revenue Growth in Russian Rubles for Q1
OREANDA-NEWS. DIXY Group (RTS, MICEX: DIXY) - one of Russia’s leading retailers of foods and everyday products - today announced revenue growth of 21.9% in Russian rubles (21.3% in USD) for the first three months of 2013, and revenue growth of 23.6% in Russian rubles (17.8% in USD) in March 2013.
For the first three months of 2013, DIXY Group Total Revenue increased to RUR 42.3 bln (USD 1.4 bln) by 21.9% in rubles (21.3% in USD) year-on-year.
Please, note that our stores operated 2 days less in the first quarter of 2013 compared to the same period of 2012:
• The stores were closed for New Year holiday on January 1, 2013, but were opened on January 1, 2012.
• The stores operated one day less in February 2013 compared to February 2012, as 2012 year was a leap year.
The two-day difference affected the Company’s revenue growth for the first three months by 2.2% year-on-year. Thus, the revenue growth for the first three months of 2013 adjusted for the two-day difference would be 24.1% year-on-year in rubles.
In March 2013, DIXY Group Total Revenue increased to RUR 15.3 bln (USD 496.4 mln) by 23.6% in rubles (17.8% in USD) year-on-year.
• Retail revenue of DIXY neighborhood stores increased to RUR 11.5 bln (USD 374.5 mln) by 55.2% in RUR (47.9% in USD) in March 2013 compared to March 2012. The growth was driven mainly by DIXY chain strong organic expansion, and helped by re-branding of ex-Victoria neighborhood stores into DIXY banner throughout 2012.
• Retail revenue of Victoria Division decreased to RUR 2.3 bln (USD 73.3 mln) in March 2013 from RUR 3.7 bln (USD 125.6 mln) in March 2012. This decline was caused mainly by Victoria neighborhood stores transfer into DIXY banner in 2012, which led to the reduction of the neighborhood stores number in Victoria Division to 43 stores in March 2013 from 199 stores in March 2012. As a result, retail revenue from Victoria neighborhood stores decreased year-on-year by 80.6% in RUR (81.5% in USD) to RUR 417.9 mln (USD 13.6 mln) in March 2013.
In March 2013, retail revenue from Victoria supermarkets amounted to RUR 1.8 bln (USD 57.5 mln), demonstrating a 21.8% growth in RUR (16.1% in USD).
Retail revenue from cash&carry store CASH amounted to RUR 70.5 mln (USD 2.3 mln) in March 2013 compared to RUR 80.3 mln (USD 2.7 mln) in March 2012.
• Retail revenue of Megamart Division increased to RUR 1.4 bln (USD 44.4 mln) by 20.3% in RUR (14.7% in USD) year-on-year in March 2013. The growth was driven mainly by MegaMart compact hypermarkets retail revenue, which increased to RUR 1.1 bln (USD 35.0 mln) by 17.9% in RUR (12.4% in USD). MiniMart stores retail revenue increased to RUR 291.0 mln (USD 9.4 mln) by 30.2% in RUR (24.1% in USD) year-on-year.
