Belarus Raises Retail Prices for Certain Cigarette Brands on May 1
OREANDA-NEWS. Belarus is raising retail prices for certain home-made and imported cigarette brands on May 1, 2013 by 3.2%-18.2%, depending on the brand, the Tax Ministry of Belarus told.
Retail prices of Kent HDi brand cigarettes (imported by Belarustorg) will go up by 18.2% to Br13,000 (USD 1.5 at the official rate of Belarus’ central bank) per pack, Davidoff - up 3.2% to Br16,000 (USD 1.86), R1 Slims – Br11,000 (USD 1.28).
Retail prices of Kent HDs brand cigarettes produced by Grodno Neman under licence from British-American Tobacco Trading Company is set at Br12,500 (USD 1.45) per pack.
Retail prices of home-made Korona (Crown) and Korona Golubaya (Blue Crown) go up by 5.3% to Br4,950 (USD 0.57) per pack.
The new price of Korona Slim (Crown Style) is Br4,700 (USD 0.55, up 2.2%); Korona Elit (Crown Elite) all manufactured by Tabak Invest tobacco factory – up 2.2% to Br4,600 (USD 0.53).
Retail prices of home-made Fort brand cigarettes will go up by 8.9% to Br4,900 (USD 0.57 at the official rate of Belarus’ central bank).
The prices of other brand cigarettes have remained unchanged.
The latest increase in tobacco prices was registered on April 1, 2013, with prices growing by 0.6-0.8%, depending on the brand.
