Savings are kept home by 32% of rural population and 24% of urban one. Savings are deposited to banks by 7% of rural dwellers and 15 % of urban ones; 3% of villagers and 4% of city dwellers invest savings in business and 2% of villagers and 3% of city dwellers invest them in real estate. Precious stones and metals are used to invest savings in by 1% of urban dwellers and 0% of rural ones.

The survey embraced 1170 people at the age over 18 all over Moldova.
