First Vice PM of Ukraine Held Meeting with European Commission
OREANDA-NEWS. May 07, 2013. The First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Arbuzov held a meeting with Vice-President of the European Commission, Commissioner for Inter-Institutional Relations and Administration Maros Sefcovic in Brussels.
There were discussed issues of internal political and economic development of Ukraine, in particular in the context of implementation of criteria determined on the conclusions of Ukraine-EU Summit of February 25, 2013 concerning signing and start of temporary applying of Ukraine-EU Association Agreement.
Serhiy Arbuzov drew attention of Maros Sefcovic to mutually beneficial aspects of the future Agreement and called on the Vice-President of European Commission to support signing of the Agreement with Ukraine within limits of competency. He emphasized the significance of support by the EU in revealing powerful unused potential of Ukraine.
The Vice-President of the European Commission was also informed about the process of reforms in the area of administrative services in Ukraine. With the view to the complexity of the measures, which are to be taken in Ukraine to ensure proper realization of the administrative reform pursuant to the European standards, the Ukrainian party proposed to the European Commission to return to considering an issue of a possibility to render sector budget support for the mentioned aims to Ukraine.
Serhiy Arbuzov expressed hopes on continuing a fruitful dialog with Maros Sefcovic in the future and invited him to pay a visit to Ukraine at any convenient time.
On April 29, 2013 First Vice Prime Minister Serhiy Arbuzov stays on his first working visit to Brussels. The delegation of Ukraine consists of Finance Minister Yuriy Kolobov, Minister of Incomes and Fees Olexandr Klymenko, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Prysyazhniuk, deputy head of National Bank of Ukraine Mykola Udovychenko, Government Commissioner for European integration Valeriy Pyatnytskyi.
