TVEL Fuel Company Upgrades quality of Its Products and Services
OREANDA-NEWS. At TVEL OJSC a conference dedicated to the quality of the company’s products and services was held. The participants of the conference included the representatives of the enterprises producing gas centrifuges, separation-sublimation and fuel fabrication plants as well as engineering departments and the representatives of VNIIM OJSC and Commercial Center OJSC. The conference was chaired by Pyotr Lavrenyuk, the Senior Vice President.
Vyacheslav Chirkov, the TVEL OJSC executive director of Quality Management, spoke on the results of the company’s activity in 2012. According to him, all the company’s enterprises are the parts of the integrated management system (IMS) which includes development and production of gas centrifuges, separation-sublimation complex, and production of stainless steel and titanium alloys rolled products. In addition, in 2012 several companies were included in IMS certification scope, such as VNIIM OJSC, KMZ OJSC, VPO Tochmash OJSC, SKK OJSC and UZGC LLC.
Among other events mentioned by Vyacheslav Chirkov were the introduction of electronic passports and bar-coding at the plants producing gas centrifuges, 10 technical regulations as well as the development of STK-42-2012 and STK-44-2013 standards on the basis of which the electronic exchange of technical documentation between TVEL OJSC and the Fuel Company’s enterprises was implemented.
During the last year the enterprises continued implementing the control operation optimization program. It enabled releasing about 300 verification personnel and achieving the economic effect in the amount of 78 mln rubles.
The objectives for 2013 named at the conference included the ISM improvement, the development of the Fuel Company’s specific requirements for management systems on the basis of the world's best industry practices, completing the implementation of the electronic passports and bar-coding at the enterprises producing gas centrifuges and separation-sublimation complex. Another important area of work is to further reduce the risks of manufacturing defective products as well as to implement the “0 defects” program linked to the products supplied.
