OREANDA-NEWS. The R-Pharm Group joined the Russian delegation at the Annual BIO International Convention 2013 organized in Chicago. The Russian delegation was comprised of representatives of Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, Russian Ministry of Economic Development, State Duma, regional authorities and Russian pharmaceutical companies and clusters.

The agenda of the largest global biotech exhibition and congress included scientific symposiums, business discussions and a “partner forum” for representatives of biotech companies. The R-Pharm Group and other leading Russian research and production companies presented their innovative biotech solutions at the national booth. Also the R-Pharm Group became a general partner of the Russian reception dedicated to the opening of the Russian pavilion at BIO International Convention 2013.

The Russian delegation raised several important questions during the panel discussions: Russia’s transformation from pharm emerging market to the fastest growing pharmaceutical market; the role of biotech clysters in the modernization and technological development of the Russian economy; drug discovery & development. Alexey Repik, Chairman of the Board "R-Pharm", supported in his speech the governmental initiatives aimed to stimulate the creation of sustainable domestic pharmaceutical industry able to supply Russian population with affordable, efficient and safe drugs. He also highlighted the success of a public-private partnership through the example of cooperation established between Russian government and his company. Mikhail Samsonov, Chief Medical Officer, R-Pharm Group, headed a panel discussion dedicated to the drug discovery & development opportunities on the Russian market. The panel’s participants shared examples of successful Russian R&D projects and discussed the aspects of technology transfer based on cooperation with international companies. Investors and potential partners of Russia became better informed about the growth dynamic of local pharmaceutical market and opportunities available for international cooperation.

The event provided an opportunity to announce plans of Russian pharmaceutical industry development and to present successful domestic and international projects. Also several strategic agreements were signed during the BIO International Convention 2013, which are highly important for the global pharmaceutical and biotech industries. “The R-Pharm Group’s experience of participation in the event proves its high importance and outstanding value for global pharmaceutical and biotechnological industries.
