OREANDA-NEWS. The Turkmenenergo State Power Corporation of the Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan will conclude a contract with the Chalik Enerji Company (Turkey) for construction of three gas turbine power plants. A power plant with the capacity of 141.7 megawatt will be built in Ak Bugday Etrap in Ahal Velayat, a plant with the capacity of 149.2 megawatt – in Serdarabat Etrap in Lebap Velayat and the plant with the capacity of 146.7 megawatt – in Saparmyrat Turkmenbashi settlement in Mary Velayat.

The project will be implemented within the framework of the Concept of development of the power industry of Turkmenistan in 2013-2020 with the aim to ensure reliable and uninterrupted energy supply to consumers. Constriction works will start in May, 2013 and it is planned to put the new facilities into operation in February, 2014.
