OREANDA-NEWS. Kotinskaya mine (run by Kotinskoye mine administration under director Alexander Kavardakov) began working a new long wall, No.52-09.

The face of the new long wall is equipped with DBT supports, an SL-500 shearer, an upgraded conveyor line. The long wall with the extended shearing system stretches for 276 metres. The average minable thickness of the seam is 4.2 m. The coal reserves are approximately 7,000,000 tonnes — a unique value for the national coal industry.

The Kotinskaya miners started working the new long wall after a prolonged and complicated reinstallation of equipment in view of extensive preparatory work caused by abundance of water and putting in place a water drainage system.

The long wall mining was assigned to the highly professional stoping team under Kuzbass Hero Vladimir Melnik.
