OREANDA-NEWS. General Director of "Zarubezhneft" JSC Sergey Kudryashov made a working trip to the Republic of Srpska (Bosnia and Herzegovina), where he met with the leaders of the Republic of Srpska – President Milorad Dodik, Prime Minister Zeljka Cvijanovic, members of the Government of the Republic of Srpska, and visited facilities of the company and held a working meeting with the management of the subsidiary of Zarubezhneft – OPTIMA Grupa.

In the course of the meetings management of the Republic of Srpska noted an important role of the Russian Federation as strategic partner and the role of Zarubezhneft`s project in economic development of RS. In particular, it was said that Government of the Republic of Srpska will render all possible assistance to advance company`s interests in the region, as far as it makes an important contribution into social and economic development of the Republic. Sergey Kudryashov for his part noted that Zarubezhneft began its activity in the region 6 years ago as strategic investor, and it was able to do a lot for that time. In particular, as a result of modernization oil refinery "Brod" and motor oil plant "Modrica" produce now quality oil products that meet the highest European standards (Euro-5) and motor oil.

Parties also discussed environmental issues related to the company`s activity. Sergey Kudryashov informed the Government of the Republic of Srpska that the Program for improving environmental characteristics of the oil refinery "Brod" is being implemented. He noted that these problems can be solved step by step for the purpose of achieving highest environmental standards. In the nearest time it is planned to purchase the meteorological station for measuring the air alert level near the oil refinery Brod. This will allow to inform the population about the slightest environmental changes. Beyond that one of the main forward-looking measures for environmental and economic development of the refinery will be the use of natural gas as the source of energy.

Sergey Kudryashov also told about the progress of implementation of the joint project with the subsidiary of "Gazprom neft" - Naftna Industrija Srbije (NIS) – the project on geologic exploration on the territory of the Republic of Srpska. It is planned to drill two expendable wells till the end of this year.

In the course of the talks parties noted effective work of the Working group on monitoring of performance of obligations by Zarubezhneft and Government of the Republic of Srpska, and agreed to continue regular meetings in similar format.

Following the results of the visit General Director of "Zarubezhneft" JSC Sergey Kudryashov held a meeting with the management of the company OPTIMA Grupa, where the measures on improvement of economical efficiency and advancement of personnel policy, and also the progress of implementation of the refinery`s environmental program have been considered.
