OREANDA-NEWS. April 29, 2013. Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov emphasizes the need to activate work on creating working places in rural areas. This was announced by the head of Government in the course of visiting children’s homes of a family type in Lysychanka of Kyiv region.

“We must do everything that people could travel less to work in big towns but had an opportunity to employ locally. The development of productive facilities locally is our most important task. We have to create new industrial facilities: albeit small – for 20-30 places, but it will afford for village residents to work closer to homes,” Mykola Azarov stressed.

He underlined that the overwhelming majority of rural population work, for instance, in the capital and pay there an income tax. “Over 400 thousand come to Kyiv daily from the close inhabited localities. The people work in Kyiv and pay the income tax there. But how can we develop small settlements? There are huge enterprises situated in Kyiv: Naftogaz, Ukrzaliznytsya, banks and others. And all the enterprises pay their income tax in the capital. And where do they work – drill wells, build nuclear stations? In the regions. That’s why a part of income tax must flow to the regions as well,” Mykola Azarov urged.
