TENEX Held Stakeholders' Dialogues
OREANDA-NEWS. In accordance with its 2012 Public Annual Report preparation plan, TENEX held stakeholders’ dialogues at its office on the subjects: “New Marketing Projects: Instruments of Flexible Response to Market Requirements” and “TENEX: 2012’s Best Employer. New Approaches to Staff Management”.
Dialogue participants included representatives from related operations within State Corporation Rosatom, Russia’s Ministry of Economic Development, Federal Service for Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision (Rostekhnadzor), Federal Service for Technical and Export Control (FSTEC of Russia), JSC TVEL, ARMZ Uranium Holding Co., JSC Saint Petersburg Izotop, Kazakhstan’s National Atomic Company KAZATOMPROM, Mitsui and Co. Moscow, ITOCHU Corporation, NAC International, environmental and civil society organisations, and the media.
During the dialogues, the Company’s top managers not only presented information about last year’s results and plans for the future but also provided a retrospective overview of the Company, which in 2013 celebrates its 50th anniversary.
The 2012 events specifically noted were:
• Entry into a new geographic sales market – the conclusion of the first long-term contract with the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (UAE), resulting in an increase of TENEX’s long-term export contract portfolio to a record high of nearly USD 28 billion;
• Implementation of two pilot projects, namely the delivery of the first consignment of natural uranium from Australia to Russia, which demonstrates to foreign utilities there is a possibility to involve Australian feed material on toll processing principles in purchases of Russian nuclear fuel services, and the delivery of enriched uranium from Russia to Japan via a Primorye Territory seaport, proving that this new route is promising for delivering uranium products to Asia-Pacific countries;
• Certification – TENEX became the first company in Russia’s nuclear industry to receive a certificate of compliance with the standard ISO 28000:2007, Specification for security management systems for the supply chain, which stands testimony to the international recognition of the Company’s competencies in security management at all stages of the uranium products supply chain;
• First place in the Best Employers Study for Central and Eastern Europe 2012 (among medium-sized companies) and Best Employers in Russia 2012 rankings in an annual survey of employee engagement by the reputed US company Aon Hewitt.
The participating representatives of stakeholders praised the quality of materials presented and the event’s organisation, and suggested a number of recommendations to be considered in preparing the annual report.
Public consultations on the Draft JSC TENEX 2012 Public Annual Report are slated for 23 April 2013.
