OREANDA-NEWS. April 26, 2013. Kazakhstan Kagazy PLC announces that Tomas Mateos Werner has been appointed as new CEO of Kazakhstan Kagazy JSC, the Kazakh holding company of the Group. He takes over from Taissiya Kogutyuk, who remains as the Deputy CEO, as the company said in a press release received by Lesprom Network.

Tomas Mateos Werner will step down as joint-Chairman at Kazakhstan Kagazy JSC and Kazakhstan Kagazy PLC; John Khabbaz will become the sole Chairman of the Group.

John Khabbaz, Chairman of the Group commented: "Tomas has been a very active Chairman for the past three years and this was a logical progression to his involvement in the company. He has been instrumental in delivering strong operational results in the last three years for Kagazy Group and he will now focus the business on the execution of company's growth plans. Under his leadership Kagazy Group will undergo an ambitious plan to invest in personnel, processes and technical infrastructure that will drive change and revenue expansion."

Tomas Mateos Werner is with 29.9% the biggest shareholder in Kazakhstan Kagazy PLC. In the past he has held senior positions at BBVA, Deutsche Bank, Merrill Lynch and HSBC.

Kazakhstan Kagazy is the largest recycler and producer of paper and packaging in Kazakhstan and Central Asia.
