The decrease was determined by the decline in internal net assets of the National bank by MDL 329.6 million (21.7%), whereas external net assets of NBM increased MDL 172.9 million. Money in circulation decreased from MDL 12 billion 902.8 million in February to 12 billion 892.8 million in March.

In March, M2 decreased MDL 307.1 million (0.9%) to MDL 34 billion 882.4 million. M3 decreased MDL 103.8 million (0.2%) to MDL 49 billion 705.1 million as of the end of March, 2013. Deposits attracted in MDL made up a sum of MDL 21 billion 989.5 million, 1.3% down as compared with the previous month.

Their share in the total balance of deposits declined from 60.39% in February to 59.73% in March, 2013. The balance deposits in forex expressed in MDL increased 1.4% to MDL 14 billion 822.68 million in March. Their share in a total amount of deposits grew from 39.61% in February to 40.27% in March.

The decline in M3 was determined by the decreases in the external and internal net assets of the banking system by MDL 87.3 million (0.4%) and MDL 16.5 million (0.1%) respectively.
